Jeep’s parent company Stellantis will plead guilty to emissions fraud

The world’s fifth-largest automaker will soon plead guilty to ending a years-long investigation into its efforts to cover up the amount of pollution created by its diesel engines. According to Reuters, the U.S. Department of Justice and Dodge’s parent company, Stellantis, could announce as early as next week that the automaker has agreed to pay $300 million to settle allegations of financial fraud. Stellantis declined to comment on the report.
