Tesla’s sales in Europe fell in April as the electric car maker faced backlash over Elon Musk’s political work and growing competition from Chinese rival BYD.
Tesla sold just 7,261 cars in the region last month, compared to 14,228 units sold in the same month a year ago, according to data from the European Automobile Manufacturers’ Association.
